I apologize that I haven't posted anything for the last month or so. I have been in a prodigiously morbid amount of pain and have more or lest lost my capacity for vision in both my eyes. I am getting better though and my eyesight should return in a month or so. I have some really good posts coming up for you just give me a little more time and I'll lick this thing and get back to writing.

- I just turned 22 years old. When I was 12 I was diagnosed with a medula blastoma brain tumor. This is a cancerous tumor about the size of a tennis ball growing in the forth ventricle of my brain. I had brain surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. The whole process lasted about two years. After that it took me another two to four years to recover from the treatment and I was back at about 85-90% of where I was before the cancer. Just recently I was diagnosed with a stage 4 sarcoma in my sphenoid sinus. A sarcoma is a very rare aggressive kind of cancer that is sometimes a side effect of prior radiation treatment. Because of its location the tumor is inoperable. The only treatment conventional medicine can offer is an extremely aggressive radiation treatment. Because it is an experimental protocol no one knows whether or not it will be in the least bit effective. Do I want to go ahead and try to purge the tumor with the treatment that most likely instigated the growth of the tumor in the first place??!!! I don't think so.
Oh Max I was so relieved to see you post something....I am so stressed at the fact you have been in so much pain and I pray for relief for you.

From one young brain tumor person to another, you went through more than anyone should ever have to endure in a lifetime. When you were pushed to the wall, you fought hard because age has nothing to do with survival. I could totally relate to your feelings, thoughts-irrational/rational & wanting to pass on your experience with others facing the unknown in dealing with their brain disease. I'm right with your decision to not go with the radiation. A body can only take so much & medicine can only do so much. At that point,you just have to let the river wash over you (as the song goes...). For whatever natural reason, you had to go through hell & back & I'm glad that your suffering is over. When your life just sucks so bad, you become immune to it at some point & continue on & plow through because that is normal for your. An ability that so many people do not come wired with. Your life & experience will live on but not your pain.
